Born in California, raised in Italy, and shaped by a decade in London before moving to Paris, Erica is an Italian-American artist exploring love, identity, and human connection through moving image, performance, and visual storytelling.

Her practice is rooted in a sensorial approach to storytelling, where light, colour, movement, and rhythm become tools for accessing emotional worlds.

Her cross-cultural background, multilingual perspective, and neurodivergent way of experiencing the world inform an intuitive and embodied approach to storytelling.

At 17, she founded ESC Magazine, an independent printed arts and fashion publication exploring how art could be experienced through colour, sound, and materiality — transforming publishing into a sensory encounter.

In 2021, she graduated from Central Saint Martins  with a BA in Performance: Design & Practice. Her background in performance, alongside acting training at HomeStudio with acting coach Laurence Mitchell, continues to shape her body-led approach to directing and her collaborative process with performers.

Her filmmaking journey began through the technical side of production, working as a DIT assistant on major productions including House of the Dragon (HBO), Pistol (Disney), and Ted Lasso. This experience gave her a grounded understanding of the filmmaking process, from image creation to the dynamics of a set. She now works primarily as a director and cinematographer, creating films that explore atmosphere, emotional landscapes, and human experience.

Her short film Il Perché (Why) has received international recognition, including awards for Best Experimental Short and Best Woman Short at the Indie Film Fest, Best Experimental Short at FICOCC, and selections at the San Francisco Frozen Film Festival and Female Eye Film Festival.

As a dancer and music lover, rhythm plays a central role in her creative process. She uses music, movement, and physical exploration as tools to develop characters, guide performances, and unlock new ways of thinking at all stages of making.
